To Audrey

Speak of her now with a quiet humility

Praying that heaven will grant her serenity,

Banish forever her sense of futility,

Anguish, despair.

This world could not give to her any security –

Lonely, rejected, the world did not care.

Pause just a moment before you forget her,

Lest in that misery you had a share –

Thinking of others who now claim

Your sympathy,

Giving it freely in remembrance of her.
